Take in the Blue Lagoon is one of Iceland’s most popular attractions, a natural geothermal pool in the middle of a large and dramatic lava field and an oasis that owes its existence to a nearby geothermal power plant, looming large over the aqua tinted waters.
Stop for a refreshing bathe or a swim in the inviting, rejuvenating and pleasantly warm mineral-rich water (37°C-39°C/98-102°F), reputed for its healing properties. An indoor pool and geothermal sauna are also on the site. Bathing in this surreal environment is a unique experience no one should miss. Drive to Thingvellir National Park a UNESCO World Heritage Site, site of the ancient Icelandic parliament and a jewel of nature. Continue to the famous Geysir hot-spring area and the mighty Gullfoss waterfall. A visit to the Þingvellir National Park is a must. This is the original site of the oldest existing parliament in the world. The Great Atlantic rift is clearly visible, a rift that is slowly pulling Iceland apart along tectonic plates.

On Day 4, you visit the famous South Shore region including the Thjorsardalur Valley.
Visit the Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss Waterfalls, each with its own unique features. In the region is the beautiful Eyjafjallajokull Glacier Volcano, famous for its 2010 eruption.
Thjorsardalur Valley impresses visitors with its contrasting landscapes of forests, sandy lava fields, rivers and waterfalls. It is overlooked by the impressive volcano Hekla, Iceland‘s most frequently-erupting.
Overnight in Southeast Iceland
Your trip continues to Vatnajokull National Park the stunning Skaftafell area. You will need to dress in in warm clothes in order to fully appreciate the shimmering icebergs of Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon. You finish the day in the quaint eastern town of Egilsstadir.

On your second day in the Egilsstadir area, you will visit Hallormsstadur. This is the largest forest plantation in Iceland set along Lake Lagarfljot. Drive to edge of the magnificent highland wilderness, where you can visit the interactive new Wilderness Center that focuses on the pioneer history and nature of the eastern highlands.

Travel across the vast Modrudalsoraefi highlands to the mighty Dettifoss waterfall. Explore the impressive horse-shoe-shaped Asbyrgi canyon in Vatnajokull National Park’s northern rim before continuing to the fishing port of Husavik.
Overnight in Northeast Iceland in Upper 3-4 star Hotel
The highlights of Lake Myvatn and surrounding area with attractions such as Dimmuborgir, the pseudo craters at Skutustadir, the colorful sulfurous slopes of Namaskard and Krafla volcanic area. Make a stop to admire Godafoss , “Waterfall of the Gods” before continuing to the town of Akureyri.

Spend the day exploring Akureyri the “capital of the North” and its surrounding area. For Game of Thrones fans this is where the stunning landscapes “North of the Wall” is filmed! For everyone else, the experience is no less impressive as the scenery is breath-taking

Travel valley of Skagafjordur fjord. Here you might enjoy a horseback ride or take in ancient history at Holar Museum area or the old manor of Glaumbaer. Continue to the shores of Hunafloi bay, an area rich in Icelandic history.

Travel around the Snaefellsjokull peninsula passing the small villages of Grundarfjordur and Hellissandur. Make a stop at the rocky beach of Djúpalónssandur. Also the striking columnar basalt rock formations at Arnarstapi are a must. Over all of this beauty is the great glacier-crowned volcano of Snaefellsjokull. Pass Eldborg crater on route to the region of Borgarfjordur.

On route back to Reykjavik take in Hraunfossar a series of waterfalls formed by rivulets streaming over a distance of about 900 metres out of the Hallmundarhraun, a lava field which flowed from an eruption of one of the volcanoes lying under the glacier Langjökull. Nearby is Europe’s most powerful hot spring, Deildatunguhver.
